Elf Song

They came in the morning when the world was new,

Brightess of the stars that shone above,

All of Middle Earth was theirs, and time unending too,

To fill it with their songs, music and love.

Those that travelled Wesward saw the trees great light,

Built there Elven home in Valinor,

Sought to dwell in happiness following their flight,

To rest in peace, secure for evermore.

Chorus.***

For the West was calling them,

Calling them to home,

Promise of eternal light

Never more to roam.

Some heard the call and followed

Some heard and did not go

Some where taken by Morgoth

To a life of pain and woe.***

Morgoth was so cruel and dark evil in his heart

Sought to destroy the trees of light

Tore them down making their world so very dark

Left the Elves to battle his great might

So they built the Simarills to shine upon the lands

Morgoth stole them to keep them for himself

They made the sun and moon to thwart his evil plans

So he sent Orcs to battle with the Elves

Chorus.**

A great battled ensued then, they fought for their world

Many a life was lost that day

Morgoth was defeted and into the void was hurled

But for the Elves there was a price to pay

When destroying evil, lands were lost beneath the sea

Valinor was taken far away

But the Elves sailed in their boats desiring to be free.

To Elvenhome where gentle hearts can stay.

Chorus.**
